Lecture: Pojagi – From ancient Korea to modern Canada (In-person/Hybrid)
Part lecture and part trunk show, this fun talk tells my journey from Canada to Korea and back again. While in Korea, I studied the ancient art of Pojagi, Korean patchwork. Back in Canada, however, the Korean materials are more difficult to find, so I adapted pojagi techniques to readily-available western materials with some great results.
Workshop: Pojagi Maple Leaf with Elizabeth DeCroos (Online)
Thurs Nov 21 (9:30-12:30)
The Fall Window Hanging is a single maple leaf, which can be made in a variety of colours to represent the leaves of fall. When the sun shines through it, you can almost smell the pumpkin spice.
This window hanging looks like stained glass, but it’s actually made with reversible pojagi seams. Batik fabric gives it the special glow.
It finishes at 24″ square, so it’s just the right size for a medium window.
The handout is included in the workshop price with all the information you need to learn the technique and complete the project. Recording can be made for members who sign up but are unable to attend some/all of the workshop.
