YHQG today

Our guild strives to preserve the heritage of quilt making as a craft and as an art form. Our members promote learning, sharing and workmanship with each other and with the community. Membership is open to all those interested in quilts and quilt making, and in enhancing the knowledge of quilting within the group and the community

We do this by bringing talented and creative quilt designers as speakers and to teach their special skills in workshops; by providing access to a large library of quilting and quilt-related books, magazines, and videos; by putting people together who share a passion for quilting in a warm and open environment at our monthly meetings and other scheduled events; and by hosting challenges, charity quilting bees, quilt shows and many other events and activities which provide opportunities for members to expand their knowledge and skills.

Visitors
For information about the York Heritage Quilters Guild – membership, meetings, mission statement, and more – please refer to the Membership Information page.

Memberships are currently available. You can easily become a York Heritage member by completing the membership application form and following the mailing directions on the application form, or dropping by one of our meetings, and see what we are up to. A YHQG membership will expand your quilting horizons by allowing you to attend meetings and workshops, see and be inspired by both speakers’ and fellow members’ work, borrow books from our ever-expanding guild library, and connect and socialize with fellow quilters!

Guests are welcome to attend most meetings for $15.00. For more information, send an email to Membership or go to the membership desk at the beginning of a guild meeting.

Community Quilting
We have two groups of enthusiastic quilters meeting to make quilts to share with those in need.  Newcomers welcome! Come out and help us sandwich some quilts, prepare blocks for future quilts, come up with block ideas and patterns for future group projects, assemble quilt tops, prepare charm packs and jelly rolls and much more!
