February Guild Meeting: Shirley Dawson

Shirley’s Story: How I got from There to Here

At the guild meeting on February 17th, we will hear from Shirley Dawson – lifelong maker and teacher who is also a long-time member of YHQG.

After graduating from Sheridan College with several awards under her belt, she started her career in the textile industry. This career included designing, making and selling a line of children’s clothing.

Shirley is now immersed in the quilting world: teaching, designing, and sharing her talents. Her delightful wool and hand appliqué creations represent just one of her current creative outlets.

About jmStitching

A love of stitching has been inherited from my mother and grandmother. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have at least a couple of stitching projects underway. Whether it’s by hand or machine, there are always new projects I’d like to try or fibres I’d like to experiment with…and a few projects waiting to be finished!
