Our community quilting night was a big success, with lots of socializing getting done along with making quilt blocks! There were 25 finished quilts delivered to the guild, which meant that Wendy Dines went home with way more than she came with. These quilts will be going to good homes, donated to the Syrian refugees that have recently arrived in Toronto.
Here are a few photos from the evening and some of the other activities- Sandy accepting sign ups for the Kathy Doughty workshops at Quilts at the Creek this summer, Fabric Spark had an exciting array of fabrics for sale, and Annabelle was signing up people for Jan McGoey’s workshop. There was also a walk about by volunteers with the quilts donated to the guild. Good work, guild!
Reminders:
I hope you have started your quilt for the juried challenge this may, Out of the Blue. Details for the challenge can be found on the Display and Competition page
February is member’s showcase month, with 6 stations set up. Each station will be a demo hosted by one of our guild members, and you will be able to choose several which you are interested in and move from station to station. This has been a tremendous success in the past, and shows what a talented pool ofpeople we have in our membership. See you then!
