Well, October’s meeting was a lot of fun! An inspiring speaker, great quilts, a new vendor (Alanna Banks from Fridays Off), lots of Community Quilt activity – a busy night! Plus a visitor from Sojourn House, Toronto’s largest refugee shelter. Community Quilts was able to donate 31 quilts to them which will be distributed to refugees in Sojourn House’s shelter and transitional housing programs.
If you want to see photos from speakers at previous meetings, here is the link.. Previous meetings. Photos from all Quilter of the Month and Show and Share this year are here.
Note: Clicking on the first image of a series will give a larger view and present them as a slideshow which you can toggle through.
Kathy McNeil: Below you will find photos from our October speaker’s presentation. Since a lot of her work was presented as a slide show, I included a few screenshots. The quality is not great, but you get a glimpse into her sources inspiration, how she interprets them, and how she builds her quilt works.
And if you loved the look of her watercolour crayons and are sorry you didn’t buy them, I have found them online at Currys: neoColor sets – $26.99 for set of 10, but you can also buy single colours from them.
